The hotel was lovely and being on the canal was perfect. The Singel street is not as populated as the main streets with trams and buses, which is nice and less crowded. The breakfast was lovely and fresh everyday. And the staff are super kind and helpful. You can park a bike near by, or car right out front along the canal.. I rented a bike from King Bike Rentals, which is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Quick and easy and affordable rates for multi day adventures! As a solo female traveler, this hotel and area felt safe at night. The canal is very well lit and walking around after sunset is beautiful ❤️ ❤️. Plus you are right by the main train station (8 minute walk on cobble stone streets, easy and maneuverable with large heavy luggage) and cruise boat area. I recommend Mokumboot Canal Tours for small open air boats tours of the Canals. Lovers have enclosed boats if you don't want the weather to bother you. I had fabulous weather during my Amsterdam stay and being on the Canals in an open airboat was so nice and relaxing. Beautiful way to see the city. There was construction going on next door to the hotel which was a bit noisy first thing in the morning. But that isn't a part of the hotel and there's nothing they can do for that and shouldn't affect their overall score. Side note for handicap/ADA persons: You do have to step down a few steps with your luggage when you arrive at the hotel. I believe it was 4 or 5 steps. But once you're inside, there's a lift to take you to your room. Be mindful though, majority of places in Amsterdam are small buildings with multiple levels, like restaurants/cafes and bars, to access toilets you'll have to use stairs to another level. So if you have ADA/handicap issues with stairs, you need to do intense research on restaurants/bars/museums to make sure they can accommodate without any steps/stairs.

Everything about this hotel was perfect, from the helpful and polite employees to the smallest thoughtful details. Initially, we were a bit concerned due to reviews mentioning that the rooms were too small, but we quickly realized those comments were overly critical. For a city like Amsterdam, the room size was just right. We had three large suitcases, and they fit comfortably without causing any inconvenience we still had plenty of space to move around. The room itself was not only spotless but also beautifully designed, equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One delightful touch was the small gifts provided by the hotel, which left a wonderful first and lasting impression. Another highlight was the complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and tea machine available for all guests, a lovely perk that added to the overall experience. If I return to Amsterdam, I will absolutely book here again. The hotel's location was another standout feature. It’s situated on a quiet and picturesque street overlooking the Singel canal, offering a sense of privacy despite being in the heart of the city. Just a one minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station and close to bustling streets, it was incredibly convenient to hop on a train or explore the city's charming canals and vibrant shopping streets on foot.

Singel Hotel is just a perfect place to stay in Amsterdam for any family or businessmen who like peaceful environment, but still location in the heart of city. Stuff is unusually friendly and will help you with any interest points of the city or gives suggestions which place to visit. Unusual and really nice small gift is waiting for visitors on bed instead of usual candy. Also another gift was made when leaving the hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely renovated + very interesting architecture. If you are lucky to stay in front side rooms, then can be seen also spectacular view to one of small channels in Amsterdam with its boat traffic and living boats. Hotel is serving also breakfast of course, just my flight schedule unfortunately didn't allow me to experience it. But I am sure its very good as well. My very strong suggestion for that hotel and stuff! With best wishes, TonuEST, frequent traveller

The staff made it an excellent experience. Apparently one of the evening staff couldn’t help another guest because he was new and didn’t know what to do, but when the manager heard about it she came into the breakfast room to apologise. Checking in quite late, the receptionist helped me make a cup of tea to take to my room and even fetched a larger mug from the kitchen. And on the bed was a welcome note with a little Dutch clogs keyring. I got advice on trams to the Van Gogh museum and when I got back she asked me about my museum visit. I thought they were suspicious of me as they asked me if there was only me in my room, but I think they just wanted to take better care of me while I was there! And also its central location, it looks out onto the Singel canal, is near the station, and Dam Square.

Great location, near to the central station (7 min walk) and everything else is walkable. Building is really beautiful. Room was clean and decorated really lovely. Bathroom was a good size. Reception has a little shop in it with souvenirs and drinks and snacks. Breakfast was options of send service warm and cold items and a very good selection. You have to go down some stairs to check in - then there’s an elevator inside. Best touch ever: they left a little welcome gift souvenir on our bed, and gave us a little leaving gift souvenir - that was very special. (◍•ᴗ•◍)
